Imagefall’s most important rule is simple: nothing reaches your store unapproved. Every image, video, 3D model, and line of alt text passes through the review gallery, and you decide what gets applied. This article explains that flow and what “apply” actually does on the Shopify side.
The review gallery
After a refresh, each generated asset appears side by side with your listing’s current imagery, so you’re always comparing against what customers see today. For each asset you can:
- Approve it for applying,
- Regenerate it if the result missed (regenerating a step charges that step’s credits again — the cost is shown on the button),
- Discard it — discarded assets are never published.
Generated imagery is labeled as AI-generated inside the gallery, and on-model shots carry an extra “AI model” chip — see AI model disclosure.
What applying does
Applying pushes approved assets to your Shopify product via the official API. Images and videos are added to the product’s media gallery; 3D models are attached as GLB media, which enables Shopify’s native 3D viewer and AR badge on the product page. Alt text is written onto the applied images. Files are optimized before upload — properly sized, compressed, modern formats.
You can apply assets one at a time or approve a set and apply them together. Videos and 3D models are processed by Shopify after upload, so they can take a minute to appear on the storefront.
Your originals are safe
Applying adds media to your listing — Imagefall never deletes your existing photos. If you want the new hero image first or old shots removed, reorder or remove media in the Shopify admin as usual. That keeps you in full control of the final gallery, and means you can always fall back to your original imagery.
After applying
Your listing’s Visual Performance Score is recalculated on the next scan, so you can watch the audit reflect the improvement. If an applied asset doesn’t look right on the storefront, remove it in Shopify and regenerate — and if something seems stuck, check Troubleshooting failed steps.
